No. Our tap water is clean and safe to drink. Some people use filters or purifiers but water straight from the tap is safe to drink. It must pass testing quarterly.

Regulations are pretty strict here. Big city, small town.
Testing is the same. Fines and possible litigation if water tests bad.

I'm glad your water is very safe
In my parents' home, they use tap water directly. They are in a small city.In big cities, most people don't use tap water directly

@zhangxueying Ya most of the time. Your water should also be safe.

Water is actually an issue here in our subdivision...
Our water supply is deep well, and previous tests have already shown it to be unsafe/contaminated.
We have been trying to apply to get our water supply from a water company that supplies nearby communities, but some people in the subdivision blocks the efforts so, for years now, the application doesn't push through.
In the meantime, we boil our water for drinking, while other households buy from water purifying stations...

@zhangxueying Well, no. We don't drink the boiled water hot, unless it's for hot drinks... The important thing is that all water for drinking (and for other food prep) should be boiled first.
So we just normally set aside some amount of it in those flasks that keep water hot for longer than normal, for use when we need hot water (like for coffee, hot choco, tea, etc.). But most of it we let cool to room temperature and that's the bulk of our drinking water. Some we also put in the fridge to really cool, but I personally don't drink cold water unless the weather is super hot or I just came in from a long walk.

No, we don't. Some people do here but it's not necessary.

@zhangxueying Yes, it is. In cities here the water is tested every three months to make sure the water is safe. (On farms the water is tested once a year to make sure it is still safe.)

I have a water purifier installed in our home and we drink water from that and even use the same water for cooking purpose.

It's more convenient to install a water purifier at home

@zhangxueying Yes. It's a good investment and is economical in long run. Buying water daily is not economical.
