The Double Standards of the USA

I have known the United States Air Force officers as myself am an Air Force officer and many times I have had friendly discussion with them. I am glad most agree with me. My point is Russia has invaded Ukraine. I agree this is bad but the United States has led the chorus of condemnation and sanctions, completely forgetting what they have been doing for over half a century. They bombed Kosvo for 80 days and then invaded and continued by bombing Iraq for 70 days and then invading it. No sweat ! This is justified. They fought in Afghanistan and Vietnam for 20 years and 9 years respectively; got defeated and yet dropped more bombs on North Vietnam than during entire World War 2. Looking at the world, America has intervened in more wars and more places than any country in the world. The sad part is that all the countries and places they intervened have been destroyed, just see the condition of Iraq and Libya. One should not forget that they dropped atomic bombs on Japan when it was a defeated nation and killed 200000 civilians. I wonder how America can preach to anybody. As per Newton's law there is always action and reaction and the reaction to American imperialism is the rise of China. I wonder how strongly America will defend Taiwan as and when it is invaded by China in a year or so.

I totally agree with you but we need to stop Russia from this gruesome act in the name of war. America has double standards since time immemorial. Rather I should say most European countries like UK, Scotland, France, Italy etc.

@madan02 That's very true. They have instilled materialist attitude in our young generation. The New generation is losing Indian values and moral ethics.

It's not a war, it's a special operation ... between the high positioned politicians ... they do not care about the deaths, people or whatever. They just have businesses to take care of. On either side. Americans, Russians or Ukrainians. It's just business. We do not care.

These 'invasions' and atrocities are despicable no matter who is doing them or who is behind them. You are right about the atrocities also committed by USA also. No one can dispute these things did not happen.

You are totally right, they preach well, but they did exactly the same for the past 70 years. I often think to the two atomic bombs that killed 200000 civilians in Japan, I remember the interview the French TV made to the two pilots, they did not regret a bit "it was justified to stop the war. Let's hope that Putin does not think the same.

Our government too has followed a double standards policy. While the invasion is morally condemnable, the Indian government has chosen a path of convenience in refraining from even speaking against Russia.

Xavier, India cannot forget the support which Russia give us when the entire West was ganging against India and Russia used the veto many times to save India

America seems to feel compelled to help defend people who are victims of tyrants. Americans will start asking, why doesn't America do something. At the same time they need to take a second look at their actions as well.
