Well, time to finish up my traveling and head home to enjoy the spring season. But before I go back, here are some final musical selections with an exotic theme to them. See if you can identify these songs and artists in today's music trivia quiz.
I think visiting some “New Horizons” are in order. “I can’t drive, sail, or fly there, “but who knows, maybe someday it will be a commonplace thing for all. So, enjoy this song as you figure out those "far away" titles in this musical challenge. Beautifully put together music video. See what you think of it!
Even if you don't know them it's fun to find out the answers.
(Remember words in quotations do provide hints to the music trivia answers)
Whodunnit- Name those songs and artists:
1.This “English New Wave” band recorded this “far out” song in 1979 where it reached the top spot in the UK. The band is comprised of “3 blonde haired” musicians,” one, who goes by the single moniker “Sting.” This song title is definitely a strange one and repeated throughout the song. The song's video was shot at the “Kennedy Space Center” in Florida, a perfect “location” for a tune about a “satellite that orbits the earth.” Ten years prior to this song coming out, “Neil Armstrong walked on the surface of this orb which comes out at night.”
-Do you know the name of this band and their “far away” named song?
2.This “Italian-American crooner” from Hoboken, NJ started his musical career working with the Tommy Dorsey Band in 1940. By 1942 he was a solo act, with a huge fan base, especially among “teen-age girls known as Bobby-Soxers.” This singing legend was also an actor and one of his movies called “Ocean’s Eleven” featured his “Rat Pack” buddies. This song with the “exotic destination” was used during Apollo 10’s “lunar mission,” and it was one of the first songs ever to be” played in outer space.” You could say that tune really “flew" to great heights!
-Do you know the name of this “swinging rat packer” and his “far-out “song?
3.This group from the Netherlands came out with this “far away” song with “a planet’s name in the title.” “Shockingly” the tune hit the #1 spot on the charts in 1969. Although the song has a space-named title, it is really about a “woman being compared to a certain Roman goddess.”
-Do you know this group name and their planet/goddess titled song?
Ok, let's not "get lost in space” while figuring out these song and artist answers. If you're stuck and need additional hints just let me know in your response. Or, as Billy Swan would say, "I Can Help."
Thanks for reading and responding to my music post!!! I will return with a new music trivia soon. Stay tuned...
