Return to office.

Confession of someone who wants to keep her job yet on the verge of helplessness. I dread the idea of RTO. Realized, I'm not cut to be around people(on second thought. I know that a long time ago) Plus, the idea that they’ll dredge your nostrils for samples??(On a weekly basis) In many ways, the lockdown has undoubtedly been a challenge. The change to working from home however, has been a blessing for myself as an Introvert. Not stand-offish or weird... I just like being alone a lot. Sure I missed pantry conversation But, I'm anxious about hallway run ins Hence, I'll never leave home without a headset on. I want to go to work to, well work. There are disadvantages of WFH. My client requires that I'm LAN connected. So, I never get to work by the pool, or by the garden nor inside the library. Gained weight. Lost confidence. During the time that I was engaged to be married The workplace was my solace so even if it was 3 hours travel time to and another 2.5 from (my friends knows I don't like traveling within the metro) the workplace is the only window for me to live my life in a world very different from my home and to people I call home and hence it was a huge productivity booster. Plus, I have so many friends that I look forward to spending lunch with. Sometimes, I'm annoyed when they sit to chat with me whilst I'm swamped with work but I love and enjoy the noise too. Even the night "joy ride" Maybe, because I have my little place now that's why I'm comfortable to the WFH set up. Had my life been the same pre pandemic WFH may be cost effective but could potentially lead to a very demotivated me. I'm grateful that although I'm tied to my desk. I am in the solace of my own home. It is, for some, a life lost. That's why I also respect people's choice to RTO. I just hope WFH shall also be an option. It's quite funny when people think I'm lonely because I choose to WFH. Far from it. solitude and silence that's me when I'm home. Oddly I'm into Rock music. Oh well that's a different story. I'm anxious to the idea of RTO. But, maybe I'll find something to look forward to. ?? Maybe.

I've always "worked from home" so it hasn't really affected me, thank goodness!

@SundaySomewhere Then don't. If you can keep working from home then do so.
