I wonder how reporters can know so much when talking on TV.

There´s nothing good on TV so I have news and reporters talking while I mylot. know about every subject in the wordl. It seems they have studied everything. And I envy them. I have stopped learning many things some years ago. I started to feel that everything was so replacable that it wasn´t worth it to learn any old or new thing. Once in a while I still get caught by a book, a museum shown on TV or some animals living in Africa. So now I am in the process of unlearning some knowledge I used to have. Do you think about this once in a while, friends? I´m now about to turn my lights off. Sleep tight. See you tomorrow.

Reporters have the habit to "invent stories", they know nothing but they want to show that they know everything.

Hours before the broadcast, meetings are held and a script is developed for the news telecast. A small group will decide which stories will be included in that day's news program. They decide the order it is delivered and the content of the stories. Stories are written or rewritten until they satisfy the editor. The stories are then given to the anchor or the reporters so they can become familiar with the text. On air, they read those same stories from a teleprompter off camera. I'm not saying they know nothing, I'm saying that they are acting as much as they are reporting. What you see on TV is a performance of sorts. They want you to feel the report is credible but they are really just reading the lines that someone else wrote. There are exceptions. But for the most part, Journalists that read reports are few and far between. Reporters reading stories are a dime a dozen.

I thought that they used to have the news content displayed in front of their eyes, in the opposite side of the camera. Nobody can memorize details of so many news.

Because it's their job to find stories around the world and present them. I stopped learning too, ha.

No! I am learning new things all the time and that's what makes life so fascinating!

I'm amazed by the knowledge some of these presenters have too. I think some have researchers helping them out.

Reporters and newscasters have such a vast knowledge of what's going on in the world; and I envy them. I used to watch CNN for hours; but I haven't done that in a long time.
