Good, Cheap Coffee

I love my coffee, but I also love my money. So, why not get the best of both worlds and get some pretty good coffee that is also cheap?
Exactly the way the mind of Porwest thinks, right?
Besides the fact that most of what I buy from Aldi is really good stuff and very economical, the Beaumont coffee they sell is also actually...
Really good coffee.
And heck, for less than $6 a can (it was under $5 before inflation took hold), it is a good tasting bargain. Even better than Folger's in my opinion, even though Folger's would not be considered a "great" coffee, even though I do like it too.
Coffee's on the economic scale I like? Folgers, Maxwell House, Chase & Sandborn and yes, Beaumont.
We do treat ourselves to premium coffees on the weekends. But during the week? This is a coffee that is good on the palate and great on the wallet.
What's a tasty economical coffee you like?

My coffee lasts me a long time. I only drink it when I have the cravings for it. So, a large Foldgers can last me a good year or so.

@much2say lol. Well, at least it is confirmed.
My impression was that TJ's was overrated and I was not impressed with the prices nor the choices. Very, very little made it into my cart, and I was so underwhelmed that I decided there was no need to ever go back.
It has been more than ten years. I guess I could go back and give it another go.

Trader Joe's is one of those stores I went into once and decided then and there I didn't care if I ever went back. lol. They have a good following though, so I may just be weird.
Incidentally, the people that run Aldi also own Trader Joe's, however it's not the Aldi we see here in the United States—same family though that run Aldi Nord and Aldi Sud. Aldi Nord owns Trader Joe's while Aldi Sud owns the Aldi stores we see in the United States.
Of course there are two separate companies because the family could not get along. Go figure. lol

I had never heard of that one.
My coffee is certainly not cheap but I need it.

@porwest I buy that kind called Kicking Horse but it is about $8 for 10 oz ground. Lasts me a month tho.

@RebeccasFarm Never heard of Kicking Horse. Must be a local thing. The most I have paid is about $17 for 12 oz of Balance.

@RubyHawk I agree. Aldi overall has pretty good stuff for the price. I think they really work hard to make sure that what they offer is of high quality even at discount prices. Can't beat how fast they get you through the checkout either, although I wish they would be gentler with the cans. I leave the dented ones on the shelf for a reason and often have to scold cashiers for lobbing my cans into the cart just to dent the good ones I picked. lol

Mostly local brands.
Once in awhile, I get roasted coffee beans from farm markets in the province. We have one that is popular. It is called kapeng barako and it is from Batangas.

@allen0187 Me too. There was an article I read somewhere that said 67 cents of every dollar you spend local stays local while only about 35 cents spent at a national chain stays local. That makes a big difference.

Most of the delicious coffees I drink are free. My friends bring me coffee from Colombia, Ecuador and Brasil. They know I love it.

In my case, I seldom drink coffee. I only drink if I like. I just prefer water even in the morning. That Maxwell House is so good. I have tasted when my cousin arrived home from New York and gifted me this coffee brand. It's superb coffee.

I always drink Folger's Instant Decaf Coffee. I used to drink Taster's Choice eons ago. I only have one cup a day; so it doesn't matter much what I choose as long as I like it.

Sounds economical to me, I am a tea drinker, I do know that my friends who live below me love coffee, And so I did enjoy smelling the coffee brewing at different times of the day, But now they were looking to save some money so switched to a different kind of coffee and now when they brew it downstairs I do not get the scent upstairs so I wonder if for them it was worth it to economies on the coffee and what they are drinking now, I mean if I cannot even smell that coffee,

I don't think I've tried any of these types of coffee. When I used to make coffee in my Breville before it started malfunctioning I usually only bought coffee from Whole Foods. I think it was called Allegro coffee. They had them in those huge sacks and I scooped however much I wanted into a paper bag and then weighed it. I loved their coffee. Once in a while I got coffee from Trader Joe's. It was pretty good too. Now I drink Tasters Choice instant coffee until I can figure out how to fix the Breville machine. I think we first need to get a replacement part that got damaged but it is out of stock (for a long time already) at the Breville website and not available anywhere else it seems. There is a compatible part that we found somewhere but I don't feel comfortable buying a compatible part.
