I Think I was Molested

When I was in first grade sitting in a small semicircle with my reading group, my teacher, Mrs. Michelaus, asked me to stand up and move closer to her. She wanted to look at my cowgirl outfit, so she said.
My grandmother returned from California and bought me a skirt and vest with fringe on it. It was red and I remember I wore little cowgirl boots with it.
Mrs. M. lifted my skirt and pulled my panties down, looked, and that was it.
At lunch I told my mother, who immediately called the principal. I saw my mother in her office as we passed by on our walk to the lavatory.
I’m sure Mrs. M. denied what happened, but nothing ever came of it. In this day and age, a lot more would have happened. I will never ever forget that day. I was mortified and embarrassed.
~Photo is off one of many clumps of daffodils blooming in my yard. Guess who I noticed planting daffodils across the street today? My friends here won’t have to guess.~

I am so sorry to hear that that happened to you. It is disgusting and, sadly, does not even surprise me. Although I was not directly molested by a teacher, along with his students, my eighth grade social studies teacher encouraged and cheered on a boy who cornered me in the classroom, put one hand down my blouse and bra, and the other hand down my pants and panties. It was the last day of school, and that boy and his family were about to move to Arkansas, so I don't believe the school pursued any charges against him (and neither did my mother). And, of course, the teacher denied cheering on his molestation. But what difference would it have made if he hadn't since he'd already gained his tenure? None. The district would have covered for him because that is what they did back then.

We’re so quick to scream at the priests who did this decades ago (and the church that kept it quiet), but we have the exact same thing going on in the school system and we’re quiet about it. Why, because the priests are supposed to be “holy” and the teachers “secular,” making it okay for the latter?
I was molested by an uncle-by-marriage, and I went home immediately and told my mother. She called him and said, “If you touch her again I’ll kill you.” And he knew she meant it, so he never said so much as “hi” to me for the rest of his life.

@FourWalls How awful for you! And good for your mother. Unfortunately, it still continues today. Many are still afraid or ashamed to admit it.

What a horrible thing to have to endure! I believe a lot of things that happened back when we were children was just brushed under the rug. Today they would be hung out to dry..
Have you thought to buy some nettles?

To bad she wasn't immediately fired and sent to jail. What a terrible person. She probably molested many more over the years
My dad bought me cowgirl boots for my birthday when I turned 4 yrs and I wore them every day. I loved them so much. In spite of my aunt begging me to wear my sneakers for a while because they hurt my feet all day and I had terrible leg aches at night. I finally could no longer get them on and had to give them up.

I had a history teacher who wanted me to sit on his lap. I avoided his side of the school after that, and I was going to ask for a transfer to another history class but thankfully my parents (who managed motels for a chain) got the transfer instead.

Wow! He should have been reported.
My father had a worker who was in our basement. He unzipped and pulled out his u-know-what and wanted me to touch it. I almost did at his encouragement, but it was so ugly and repulsive to me. I told my parents that night, and my father hit the roof. Frank was fired immediately. If my dad was in the mafia, he would have hired someone to wipe him out.

The vice-principal at Pretty's middle school exposed himself to her in his office. He was fired the next day when I got done talking with him and the principal. I would have sued the school district if he hadn't been fired and told them both that.

@DaddyEvil I have no idea, but they should be locked up and put away. Who knows how many others the vice principal exposed himself to? One is too many in my book. Pervert psycho! Glad Pretty told you about it and you took care of the situation

That's sick!!!! Good going!
My father's worker was doing work in our basement which was a playroom for me and my brothers. He exposed himself to me when I was under 10 years old and kept begging me to touch it. I almost did, but was grossed out. I told my parents and he was fired immediately. There are things that we will never forget.

That was wrong and she should have been fired and charged.
Yep. I did some window shopping for the yard today. See what I can think of to drive my neighbor nuts

I wish that pervert was fired. I'll never forget or forgive.
I guess we are both on a mission now! The workers finished the raised bed garden and she looked when they arrived, left, and returned again. Can't wait to have an extended lawn put in in front of the house. It does look crappy as it is woods and weeds. My new car will be the final touch. I intend to leave it in the driveway

I am so sorry that happened to you.
So many of us have similar stories that we were molested or handled or whatever, in some way, during a time when nothing was ever done to the offending person. It's very sad, and it stays in our memories no matter what we try to do to forget it.

@MarieCoyle Definitely not for most of the victims if not all. However, we were friends with a playwright and movie producer. He was charged by many and his son told the NY Times that he was guilty. He had to leave his own theater, and passed away just after he was accused by an actress. Such shame he brought to his family to to his victims.

It still bothers me that even though we have made progress in this area, so many people still seem to think it's the victims fault. Not hardly, when you are a small child at school!!

I am so, so sorry that this happened to you. It's terrible that nothing was done to this woman. On a lighter note; I still can't remember that quote.
? is the highest form of flattery. Something like that.

@DianneN it was the year below mine but he didnt get away with it for about two years I think.
I hated getting changed for gym so that would have been bad for me .....the boys also wore just pants , but seemed worse that the girls were made to do it
