I can say I am an apple fan.

For the longest time, I had not been a fan of Apple. Mostly because of their high prices and closed eco system. I had been an android user for as far back as the first version and gone through my fair share of phones. However, in August of last year, my husband and I bought a new van. It came with Apple CarPlay. I tried to make it work with Android Auto, but found myself geo-restricted when trying to download the needed app. So, I got an iPhone.
A few months later, I bought an Apple Watch, and enjoy the seamlessness. Which made me consider a MacBook (I prefer laptops over desktops) so, that was my latest buy. I just answered my phone on my Mac, and had a hands-free conversation with my husband. Something that would've been more complicated with Android.
Each time something works, I find a new reason to love it all over again.

Over the last few years, that's changed. People are holding onto their products longer and longer. Apple also has a record of offering updates for several years. And, with two year contracts basically a thing of the past, you can make them last forever. My friend only recently upgraded and she'd had her iPhone for a good six plus years.

I can understand why that is. The price thing I mean. They do try to balance quality with ease of use. And, that's something I'm thankful for especially when I need it. It's been two days and I have yet to touch my dell.

@kaylachan It took a little adjustment for me, but I am there now. No going back for me, hopefully.

@CarolDM It's still a learning curve for me, too.

I fell in love with Apple products back when I first attended Full Sail University. For several years I've never had an internal problem with my Macbook and if there was a problem, it was easily fixed, as sometimes it would fix itself. I do however need a new one, because mine is so outdated it's not even funny. I spend more time on my IPad though these days.

Then it might not be cost effective to buy a new macbook. And, while I did have the money to buy mine outright, Apple does offer installment plans. Or you can get one from Best Buy, or a place like it and use their installment method.

@Firestorm0122 That's fair. Mack offers very little options in terms of laptops. You either get their pro line, or their air line. I went for the base model macbook air. Because the vast majority of what I do is web surffing or a little writing. Granted I was surprised to find that there's an office suite for MacOS, which makes me very happy. And, it's sadly, easier for me to install the programs I want.

@kaylachan I have one of those approved loans from Best Buy, but I'm waiting for a better time to use it. On the other side, I've not been able to find a Macbook I like either.
