I was on Facebook the other day strolling.
I saw a post that asked, What makes a diminishing marriage?
In my opinion, what causes a diminishing marriage is when you stop being friends.
I look at it this way.
When you met you were strangers, then you became friends. That friendship led to falling in love.
The friendship within the love led to marriage. If you had friendship all the way through your relationship which brought you marriage. Why wouldn't you be friends throughout the marriage?
To my fellow MyLoters, What do you think diminishes a marriage?

I know from experience that putting God at the head of your marriage makes a world of difference. There will still be problems, but not only loving your mate, but also liking and respecting each other.

For me this is more complex. I think that it needs friendship AND respect AND tolerance. To begin with.

That friendship thing makes sense.
I'll have to agree with you. It is the foundation of every relationship not only in marriage, it also apllies to mother/father-daughter/son relationship. Because when there is friendship, there is respect, love, trust, and everything else.

I would say many things diminish a marriage. One is that one marries the wrong person and they never really were friends or even liked each other and were lonely and got married for the wrong reasons.

To me I think is when you get tired of having the same person each and everday and you get to see some of their bad habits.

Usually a marriage is diminished when the daily routine of life begins to take a toll on the relationship both persons in a marriage like to find things to do.
