With the price of food riding, who feels they would be better off gardening in their own yard than going to the store to get what you need? I've loved gardening for a long time now and I just got to start my very own in my very own yard and I'm so excited to learn more and do more! I can't wait for my journey and I will start a gardening journal because of this. I have done some gardening in my parents yard several years ago but it got to be too much to go between their house and my apartment so I gave up, but I still remember all that I have learned and I'm learning new things now I have my own land!!! So I already got a landscaped flower garden which I helped put together. Though I am pretty sure my lavander did not make it through the winter. I'm waiting and hoping. All of my other plants all have green buds and leaves now but it's not quite the end of the cold season I planted some tulips, hyacinths, and a pansy though that one is anual so it is just a pretty thing! I got a weeping cherry blossom tree. I am waiting for my gas company to mark the gas line before I start digging, though I do know where it is, always safe than sorry. I have a small dwarf pine that I want to plant as well which has to wait for the lines too. So I have a lot of digging in my future. I am working on a vegetable garden. It's not goibg to bee as big as I'd like it but it will be something. And next year I'll expand it! I have one other big project a wildflower bed! I need to border it and I'll plant the seeds but omg I am just overjoyed with it . Since it is the middle of spring what are your gardening plans? Do you have any advice for flowers and/or vege/fruit gardens? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

That's great that you are thinking of growing your own vegetables and other plants. Gardening is very therapeutic and brings a lot of pleasure.

That's a great savings idea. I've had a garden for a number of years now, growing tomatoes, lettuce, green beans, squash, and peppers. I think they taste better than store bought and over the course of the summer you save so much money. Tulips are a really pretty flower and so are pansies. They have such nice colors! I have planted beach plum trees which are popular in my area of New Jersey (U.S.). Here is a photo..

Gardening is always my favorite way to go, but I don't have one now. My neighbor always shares tomatoes.
