What is a person to do ?

Because of having to buy expensive medicine and big pharma making all the money these days, a person cannot afford to eat right any more.
It's a vicious circle. Because if you don't eat right, you continue to get sick and stay sick and have to buy/pay for more medicine. Don't you agree?
Plus rent continues to go up. So you can never escape that either and have your own place. Photo is of my beautiful house I had to give up in order to move to Florida the first time because of needing help. I sometimes wish I had just stayed and died in it. I know I should not torture myself by looking at it and thinking "what if" but can't help myself.
Just saying what has been on my mind this morning.

I´m sorry!
It happens everywhere. I have had to give up buying clothes except for the bare necessities. I eat well, but I cook myself so that I can eat cheaply and well. In that, I´m very similar to my friends here Coralita (@TheSojourner) She often talks about the awesome dishes she makes with a little of this and a little of that. I do the same. Fortunatly, the house I live is mine. But still, I have to pay taxes for it every year.

I hear property taxes have risen a lot too. But I guess if you want to keep the house you have to set some amount aside each month but it's the same with rent only it's not the same as you have nothing at the end of the year.
Still nice to have your own place so I still feel I was stupid to let go of mine.
If only I was able to cook my own meals, we could save so much. But then there is the problem of bad electrical wiring that needs fixed but the land lady just takes the money and does not seem to care to upgrade or fix anything.
Yes, I too have clothes that are years and years old actually a bit ragged but what can a person do. It's either to continue wearing them or give up medicine I need.
Again we are all in a true pickle

they won't. I'm about 5 bucks over what they consider help worthy. We will manage as long as we don't get hit with something big again.

Would have loved to have seen the picture.
We have our priorities. Sorry this is a tough area for you. Nothing much you can do except check that GoodRx everytime to see if you can get a good deal.

my daughter said last time she tried GoodRX they told her they are charging a fee to join these days and at the time we didn't have the extra money. Maybe now it's like an extra insurance monthly ?

I also wish I could help more people but I think unless some one is very rich or famous or a landlord raising rent, they will soon be in trouble also and you should save all you can. That's just how I feel about all this raising rent and pharmacy grabbing up all our money.
Sorry I can't seem to get the photo to load. I wonder if I just edit my post Mylot will remove the money? I'm not sure.

@bunnybon7 Is the photo too large perhaps? That's the most common problem. We were going to gift our sons some money but if one of us got really ill, we might need the extra funds. Not everything is covered by our health insurance.

yes. They tell you to set aside money for the retirement years but the way it is now, we have nothing left to set aside.

It's like that everywhere. I used to worry about it, but now I can see worrying is not going to make it better. I just do my best, be content with what I have and let go of anything beyond my control. Stress can be harmful for our health, and if we already have health issues to deal with, it can make it worse.
