I'm Locked down in Shanghai, the most enjoyable thing for me now is to cook for my family

I have been locked down for more than 30 days. And I have a ton of food in my fridge, even I have 2 fridges at home, I managed to buy a bigger one before the lock down, but haven't got the change to dispose the old.
And I have been working from home for more than 10 months, so lock-down did not actually make any difficulty for my life.
The only difference is my wife will have to teach at home, and my kid will have to learn against the TV.
The most interesting thing comes from the food, I will have to prepare 2 meals every day for 3 of us.
And every meal, my wife will take a picture and share with her friends, because we are not able to order take out any more, so that is the only thing I can offer.
But seems like they like my cooking, or maybe they are just pretending. But anyway, seems like my cook is recognized during this time.
Great Day

I "work from home" all the time anyway so lockdown didn't affect me in that way either.
The food looks great. I'm sure they love it.

@siao441 I love working from home. No commute to make. No colleagues to argue with or get in the way. No boss to answer to. Bliss!
How did they get on with the food?

@RebeccasFarm We can get delivery for groceries and other goods, but most of the restaurants are closed, so just little food delivery for now.

I am sorry to hear that you are from Shanghai as I know the lockdown in your city is so crazy. But I am glad to hear that you have plenty food at home and you can easily manage this hard time better. Nowadays I also enjoy cooking because I seldom will go out to have a meal since I am afraid of the crazy pandemic rules. I don't want to have a lockdown in a restaurant suddenly if they found one patient. I hope this kind of life will be back to normal soon. Take care and good luck!

News are always presenting less than 5% of the whole society/whole story.
Some may be starving,
Those not able to use mobile app to get the delivery while the market is closed.
Those not having their adult children support to order food for them.
Those not willing find a way to buy things themselves but rather counting on community free delivery.
Those not having enough money to afford the higher price(2-3 times higher than normal, this is the sad part that I feel so sorry)
We have enough food to support all the people, but we make it that way to make those starving.
Shame on us.

I am shocked that lockdowns are still there, in my country there is no lockdown and we no longer wear masks and social distance. Everything is back to normal for us, you can ask if they enjoy the food you cook to be sure? And you can also tell when they eat if they really like it or not. But from the photos they look great..

@Hildasalom No, this is just beginning of the dinner, of course we will not waste them, especially at this time.

It has been 1 month now, I hope it will end soon. Food is enough for me.
The only issue would be it's become hard for me to make a creative meal every day.
If you cook the same way every day, it become boring and the "customer" will feel that way too.

@ihasaquestion That's a tough question, if that is the case, I will turn to those that can help. If nobody can help, the only thing left is to fight for living which we are always doing in a gentle way, right?

@siao441 Yes, you are right. Kids and adults need snacks, desserts and medication. What if your supply runs out before due time?
