The temperature in my city rising which is becoming unbearable for my garden fruits. Of course we are sizzling so temperature fruits are much tender. A mango on my tree got burnt by the scorching Sun rays. I felt sad but I know it won't grow so I had to pluck it. Have you had any such experience in your garden?
Photo is of the raw mango of my garden burnt from one side.

Ah, yes that happens here too. We get extremely high heat sometimes before it is even truly spring, so new growth can get fried. We have lemons and oranges here . . . in extreme heat the little forming fruit turns black and falls off.

@much2say Yes, I think they will be saved as news leaves are coming up and covering the mangoes.

Some mangoes are still small but they are placed high on the tree and covered with leaves so they are protected and didn't fall off.

Oh dear Anindita..this must be brutal and intense heat if even the plants are burned.
Here it does get intense but usually only a while in the summer,
Course with the climate changing, it is possible we will have increasingly high temps.
I am so sorry this is the way there.
I hope at least you, yourself, will be shielded from the heat.

I stay inside the house but the garden plants are exposed directly to the heat of summer.

Yes, it has crossed 40 degrees. Deforestation is the cause of this heat all over India.

@averygirl72 No, it turned brown. The picture shows it as black. Had I left it on the tree it would have turned black as it was exposed to direct heat of the Sun.

No, I plucked it. It has been burnt by the Sun rays. The skin got burnt and the inside flesh of the mango was alright.

I'm sorry to hear that. Is there something you can put over them, like a sheet or something, to keep them cool?

The mangoes are placed too high and I can't reach them. Anyway the rest of the mangoes are covered by the plant's leaves. Hope they grow until they ripe.

Yes it's sad indeed. My husband had planted this plant years ago and he is no more in this World.
