My little story

Tonight I just returned to my boarding room after going to buy something. For some reason my gaze first fell on my small wardrobe. Wardrobe made of wood with a size of 150 cm which is brownish in color. It's just an ordinary cupboard, but that's not what caught my attention, but something on top of it. Various things are located on top of the cupboard, ranging from mirrors, combs, watches, perfume bottles and others that fill the top of the cupboard which makes the top of my closet look a little messy. A little story, I just got this cupboard, after a friend of mine was kind enough to give it to me for free. Before I had that closet, I put most of my stuff in the display case which was right above my bed. surely the storefront is more messy because there are more items. Even though I used to think that if I had a cupboard, then the things here could be more organized because some things could be placed on top of the cupboard, in fact I was wrong. In fact, the things that I put on the display case slowly fill the top of the cupboard so that it doesn't make any changes, it's still a mess in both places. This reminds me of a cartoon video I watched some time ago. The video contains a conversation between a boss and an employee. The boss asked his employee, if his salary was 1 million rupiah, how much could he set aside. The employee replied that he could set aside as much as 100 thousand per month. Then the boss asked again if his salary increased to 2 million rupiah, how much could he put aside, and the employee answered 200 thousand. The boss said that if his salary increased, then the money he could set aside was 1 million one hundred thousand and not 200 thousand, because if our income increases, it is not our lifestyle that we increase, but focus on what we can save for various preparations with needs. which will come. What the boss said is absolutely true, if our income increases, our expenses do not necessarily increase as well. But the problem is, not everyone has that mindset, the bigger our income, the more we want to spend it. A proverb once said that even a little money is enough to meet the needs of life, but no amount of money will be enough to meet the lifestyle. This is what happens a lot, the more money we feel, the more we feel. It is human nature as a creature that is never satisfied, always has more desire for something. It's okay to do it as long as it doesn't harm other people. What is worried is, justify any means to meet the need for recognition from others. This will make us do anything and justify anything to get that recognition. On the other hand, we never appreciate what we have, but are busy pursuing what becomes a mere obsession. If this is the case, then it is true that Aristotle "man is a thinking animal".

The more you think about something you get obsessed about it. So try to arrange your cupboard and do away with clutters. Have a good time.

Good advice - 'So, having food and clothing, we will be content with these things' 1 Timothy 6:8 It continues in vs 9-10: 'But those who are determined to be rich fall into temptation and a snare and many senseless and harmful desires that plunge men into destruction and ruin. For the love of money is a root of all sorts of injurious things, and by reaching out for this love some have been led astray from the faith and have stabbed themselves all over with many pains' Here we can see, its an attitude, not riches in themselves, that get people into difficulties.

You've written this post as if it were a universal truth that we always want more. I don't know what kind of people your relatives and friends are. You're definitely not talking for me or the people I'm close to.

Yes, too true. When we have money we want to spend what we have. We do not need to , though

What we do is try to save the rest after our spending. What we should do is try to save first and then spend the rest.

You need to analyze the need v/s want. Have a priority list of those things. Set your goal towards passive income and so you could set aside luxurious spending. Be a minimalist, start decluttering.
