Makes it easier to respond

Lately I've noticed that for some strange reason, lots of people do not put on their profile what country they are from nor even if they are male or female. Heres the thing, why? It's not like we can just fly there and search for that person from that country. Who has that kind of money? Especially on this site where we strive to count pennies. Really? And it's easier to know if you are speaking to a male or female or in between. I've actually had people get mad at me for calling them he or she when they were not that. Some do not have a user name that would even hint at there gender. Is it not easier to respond if you have some semblance of who or what you are responding to?

I'm really not bothered by that at all. I look at the content of the discussion when I talk to people and not at their profile. But I do get annoyed by those using a profile pic of a female when in fact they are males. And I dislike being called a he when my profile pic is obviously that of a woman.

yours is obvious. but one on here with very short hair and a mans hat, I thought for a while was a guy until I called them "he" one time and they seemed upset telling me they were a woman.

Yes, it is. It’s much better to know if you’re communicating with a male or female.

@marlina but then they could not as well chastise you for calling them sir or lady.

Yes, but they could easily lie and pretend they are female when they are male.

Agree with you that it will be better if people would have their location in their profile.

I got confuse with the gender. I made mistake thinking they are male. I want a user who tells where his country is

If I do not know gender I usually keep the conversation neutral

I agree with you. Eventually you can mostly work out the gender and sometimes the country but why not put it on the profile?

I will ask where someone is from if they don't list it. I keep a list of members and where they're from.

I have so much writing in ledgers already. I have a ledger I keep my meds I take written down. Each time I take something I write it down so I don't forget if I've already taken it. I also have to write down appointments and passwords, etc.

Maybe they just like it that way, they have a reason for doing that.
