Crazy storm caused the fish to perish

About 10 days ago we got hit with a snowstorm where it was so wet and heavy that it knocked down many many trees. There was a vast power outage over about a 30 mile radius.
Thankfully our power only went out for a few minutes. My sister who lives only a mile from me lost hers for 2 days and had to stay at my parents house.
My daughters boyfriend lives 5 miles from me and has been without power since the storm. They have a generator to keep the food from going bad but three of his fish froze to death or suffocated.
I felt so bad for him so I told my daughter to find out what kind of fish he likes and we would buy him some fish to surprise him.
Well she asked him but she told him why. So she spoiled the surprise.
Today we went to the local pet store he likes and got him 5 fish. Hopefully it made him feel better about the fish he lost.
Photo is of adorable plant pots I saw back at Easter time. It’s unrelated to the post but I didn’t have any fish photos.

@Daddyevil yeah no kidding. She said she had to tell him so he would know to clean his tank and to find out exactly what to buy. She could have easily just said what fish are you going to buy next or something simple like that. Not a big deal it would have just been more fun to surprise him. @Tina30219 I’d have rather bought him a neat fish like the African butterfly fish I saw there but it was aggressive and wouldn’t get along with the other fish in his tank.

That was probably the storm the day after Easter. it was bad in South Central PA too. We were on the way home, and almost got into an accident. Breezewood got 5.5 inches of snow.

@snowy22315 my stepson was not happy to have to shovel again

It's always sad when we leave and lose pets no matter who or what they are. At least he allowed you to replace them. Fish die easily and don't have the longest lifespans usually.

@toniganzon I’m not a fan of him at all but I felt bad he lost his fish due to the power outage. I would be so sad in his shoes if that happened to my pet.
