Leftovers for dinner

Hubby and I went to my mom's yesterday to do her back yard. She needed all the weeds pulled out, and everything cleaned up. Hubby did pretty much everything. I went out to help and ripped a few weeds out but as soon as I saw bees flying around I left. I am afraid of bees. Don't want to be anywhere near them. As a thank you my mom left us money so we can go grab dinner somewhere. Instead of going to dine somewhere we just ordered takeout. I was in the mood for Chinese/Pan Asian food so we went to a great spot nearby. We ordered crab rangoon (made from imitation crab meat), beef chow mein, egg drop soup, and the Thai grilled chicken bento box. It comes with pineapple fried rice, Thai spring rolls, and a mango salad. The crab rangoon was really good. There were ten in one order. I ate five of them, and half of the egg drop soup. That filled me up as the rangoon were pretty big. I wasn't able to eat a lot of the Thai grilled chicken dish but I did finish all the mango salad. Hubby didn't finish his beef chow mein. That means dinner is all set for tonight. I hope that will be enough. I will probably make some cabbage salad to go with it. I still have money left over so will probably use that when we go out to eat tomorrow. It won't cover the total cost of the bill but it is still good. I didn't really want to take any money from her but in the end I did, to make her happy.

That bento box really caught my attention. And the egg drop soup has always been my favourite. I try to make egg drop at home but I can never make it tasty.

I never made egg drop soup at home. It’s probably easy to make.

Bees are not dangerous, I only fear the wasps. Your mother has been generous, did you also bring a gift to her for Mother's Day?

@lovebuglena I know that Mother's Day is today. I did not know you live close and you see her also today. Both our mothers are no more.

@LadyDuck That is very sad. Thankfully, I don't live far from my mom. By car anyway. By transportation it takes a bit of time. I went to see her Saturday and thought of getting flowers today as on Mother's Day it may be difficult to get flowers as they sell fast. But it was very windy and rainy and I decided against it. Didn't want the flowers to get ruined.

Yeah, sometimes when someone offers us money we feel awful taking it and yet the other person feels awful if we don't...so I usually just take it. lol But Chinese? Oh yes. Of course everyone here knows how much I love it. And crab Rangoon? You betcha!

She left us three $50s. I took only two of them lol. We ordered Chinese/Pan Asian and then Sunday Vietnamese and I think I still have money left over.

The leftovers were enough for us. Glad I did not have them for lunch. Didn't have to worry about dinner. I did make a cabbage salad though.

Glad you had so much good food and were able to help you mom with the weeding, I loved my garden in Latvia but the one thing I always hated was doing the weeding,

Yeah. And those suckers always grow back. Should've told hubby to spray everything with the weed killer, whatever that's called.

That was nice of you to do your mom's yard work. I think we will get some Chinese food and pizza today. Crab Rangoon will definitely be on the list.

It's great that crab rangoon is imitation crab meat. I wouldn't be able to have it otherwise.

Your meal was huge! Wow! I have eaten crab meat once and the crab meat did not taste too bad. Maybe one of these days I can place on the grocery list.

The crab rangoon was imitation crab meat. I have not eaten real crab in a very long time. I no longer eat real crab or other seafood.
