Did @FourWalls somehow open an eccentric (Eccentric because it seems to be very narrowly focused) time warp with her salute to songs from 1962 (And check that out if you haven't already because it's awesome)? I ask because I saw this headline this morning on the 97X Radio Station website: Get Up And Win Dance Lessons Thanks To Fred Astaire Dance Studios. It's been a very long time since I've seen a radio station push dance lessons. It used to be very common for them to offer them as prizes. So common, in fact, that the television show Gidget built an entire episode out of her winning dance lessons (From a radio station) that she didn't want ((Gidget Gadget Season 1 Episode 5 First Aired: Wednesday, October 13, 1965, TV-G, INFORMATION LINKED BELOW)). So, I will ask you once again, "Has @FourWalls opened a magical mystery portal to the 1960s?" I sure hope so. Up above, I called it, if it does in fact exist, an eccentric time warp because I'm not seeing any other evidence, which leads me to believe it's very narrowly focused, unlike the usual time warp. But is that thinking premature? This whole thing has just started and more evidence may be coming. Personally, I'd like to see the next thing be the price of cigarettes returning to 30 cents a pack...WAIT! Oh, yes, wait a minute, Mr. or Ms---As the case may be---Postperson. Because we have a Slight Correction: That one is tied with micro-mini-skirts (I have many others but I want to start with reasonably priced cigarettes and really short skirts, not necessarily in that order---And yes, I do realize that short skirts come back into style periodically and I do appreciate that but I really like the ones from the 60s and early 70s). Your mileage may vary. That does it for this one except for one final word for you Conspiracy Theorists out there: It is true that I mostly remember the dance lessons being from Arthur Murray Dance Centers. It is also true that I didn't even know Fred Astaire gave dance lessons---Nothing odd there, because Fred, just like everyone else, never tells me anything---You'd think he'd call once in a while but no (Ginger doesn't, either. And that's even worse). He doesn't. And he did have a part-time job as a dancer for a while and some people say he was kind of good at it, so him starting a dance studio doesn't set off any warning bells. At least not yet. We'll see what happens. ************** Gidget Gadget Episode aired Oct 13, 1965, TV-G https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0588012/ ---------------------- Get Up And Win Dance Lessons Thanks To Fred Astaire Dance Studios Ryan McCredden Published: May 9, 2022

Alas, I have two left feet and might endanger myself if I took dance lessons.

Well, Pony, technically you have FOUR left feet. However, you just say "two left feet" so you can claim that Richard Thompson wrote that song about you.

@FourWalls Yes, it's been playing in my head for the last half hour or so. I am learning How Will I Ever Be Simple Again right now.

If this has happened with 1962, I shudder to think what will happen when I start with the 1972 songs!!! Poor Fred and those jokes...."what's wrinkled and smells like ginger".....

@FourWalls I can't wait for the 1972 songs. And I hope the same thing happens. You know what the best part of bringing back the 70s is going to be? Well, the best part I can talk about here. I'll be able to get my favorite candy bars again. Chocolite (They have brought it back twice, once with a different name but they were not the same bar) and Summit (Twix is fine but it's no Summitt).

thank you for the memories. I could picture myself a ballet school and boy, I never want to wear a tutu again. Then I also remembered me in the late 60s with bell bottom jeans swirling around my ankles,
