What was I Thinking, trying to use Feedburner with my blog?

The service (using RSS, which stands for Really Simple Syndication, Rich Site Summary, and/or Rockdale, Sandow, and Southern (Railroad)) translate websites into code that can be read by all sorts of browsers on all sorts of devices---but the programmers 'roped me in' by saying/implying that "that meant I would have more people reading my blog." But Feedburner doesn't (on 5/12/2022) handle email-notifications, which was the main way 'I' (and nobody's told me 'they' do it different) follow blogs; so I'm looking into 'email alert'-programs ... though I MIGHT start recommending a good FeedReader. https://bloggingwizard.com/free-rss-feed-readers/

I saw many RSS integrations with blogs maybe a decade ago, but now I don't see that many.

Maybe it's 'gone the way of the CD/DVD/cassette-tape/video-tape/vinyl-album/film-projector we've still got shelves-&-shelves of CDs & DVDs, but all the music and movies we watch now are streaming (or -on cable)
