I posted a quick little post earlier saying what I made for dinner, but I am trying to get back in the habit of posting real posts, instead of just everything being little random blurbs. I used to write Frugal Food posts every single night. Back when @JohnRoberts was still with us, he would comment on them all the time. As did Coral.
Anyhoo. I started doing What's for din? posts when I stopped adding up everything I spent on meals. But I thought i would integrate both of them and see how I feel about it.
So here goes.
All four of us were home for dinner tonight.
I was on a crunch for time when I stopped at Family Dollar for the ingredients for dinner, so the hamburger meat wasn't what I would usually use, but sometimes you deal with what you have.
Tonight was bacon cheeseburgers and Checker's branded fries.
-2 two packs of frozen pattied out burgers $2.50 ($1.25 ea pack)
-Smithfield Bacon (six slices were used) $1.00
-Buns - $1.00
-Cheese $0.25 (for what I used)
-Checkers Fries (bought a pound and half bag) $1.00
-Ketchup and mayo $0.25
(I only count what I approximately thing I spent out of the total. Unless I use the whole package.
Grand total: $6.00
Or $1.50 each.
Not too bad if I do say so myself. I didn't get a picture, because we were kind of in a hurry to eat and run an errand.
Did you do better than I did with being frugal with dinner?
