RIP Ipod

Apple will be discontinuing Ipod. They will not be producing any new models because people don't need them anymore. People can simply put their song collections on their phone or stream them with Spotify or Youtube Music. Ipods changed how we listen to music because they made CDs optional. APPLE made the announcement they will discontinue ipods. They don't sell well anymore and people just use their phones for music.

That is true I never had an iPod before and was curious what it would do. But then iPhone was released and preferred to have that instead of the iPod where the functionality is limited only to music storage which you can also do on an iPhone. So basically, it looks like iPhone was the one that killed the popularity of the iPod. I think it is just right to stop it unless they are able to find other useful things you can use it.

@CaptAlbertWhisker Yes those on the Android system have their own way to store music or just go to the streaming website and you will not need to store them anymore.

There are cheaper phones too that can store more music than Ipods too.

@CaptAlbertWhisker - At least they must keep what they have and stop buying the brand new one.

I haven't used an iPod in ages. I did use one for a while but now I definitely don't need it.

All it can do is to listen to music so it is very limited. It did change how we consume music.

@CaptAlbertWhisker Definitely. I remember getting the very first iPod sooo long ago. I think my son was just 2 years old then and now he's 18. And it was merely music. And then they released the iPod touch. And there you can use it like your iPhone but without the call. it was I think before the iPad was released. It was a big hit to those who couldn't afford the iPhone.

I still have mine, even though I have an Apple Music subscription and the app. Lots of things they don’t have, and a lot of the songs they DO have are re-recorded versions of the original hits. I hate that. So I’ll keep my iPod.

I think you should download all the songs you like because after this discontinuation, they may also stop the support.

I’ve never had an iPod….but my children did, I’m sure. Some will mourn its demise. Change is constant and unrelenting.

I wonder how people will listen to music 10 years from now. There could be an invention that will replace smart phones.
