In my previous post, I had mentioned that last Tuesday, I met up with friends from my previous company because , we loss a friend.
Monday, a friend in our group chat posted the news. He saw it in the post of the partner of our friend. Our friend was confined the previous week in a private hospital due to hepatic encephalopathy and sepsis. He was transferred to a public hospital because of the cost. Sunday, he was placed in ICU and passed away later in the night.
It was heart-breaking to know this. Over that same weekend, I actually screen shot some photos of our team from the FB accounts of friends. Most of those photos had our friend, B in it.
During the wake, we recalled our happy memories with B. It was bitter-sweet. The only consolation is that B isn't suffering anymore and is together with his parents. He left his partner and a young son.
As a group, we had agreed to schedule regular meet-ups because life is meant to be lived and enjoyed. We also agreed to keep each one accountable in taking care of our health and reminding each one that we have only one life and we should make the most of it.

True.
That is a consolation, he isn't physically suffering anymore.

@LadyDuck true.
Yesterday, while running an errand, I passed by a hotel that my friend frequently stays during the holidays. I messaged our group about it.

True. We need people who force us to level up and who cheer for us.

I lost a classmate a few months back. Didn't realize he had a kidney disease. So sad for him he didn't even had a family of his own.

Thanks LK.
That is why it is important that we check on others to know their current status.

It is one of my greatest fear that as time goes by people we know will be taken away from us but that is life so we have to cherish every moment we still have

I am very sorry. It's hard to lose people we care about and share a long history with. Tragic for you and his other friends, as well as his partner and son. No more pain, but I understand he will be greatly missed.

He will be missed indeed. All the good times will be remembered though.
