Have You Ever Heard Preachers Call The Bible ' the word*s* of God'?'

I haven't; and--though I've heard people talk about The Bible as if it's 'written by God' (Shepherd's Chapel calls it "God's letter to you")--it's not 'the words of God,' it's God's "word" (his 'promise,' his Word he gives us (through the words of the prophets).
The Bible is merely a practice-book, training us to find the fulfillment of God's promises in the real world.

The Bible is written by prophets and disciples of God who revealed or had spoken to them. And God's words are preserved in the Bible. I know there's a great difference between Words of God and God's words.

My point is that you don't read The Bible to get a quote "from God." (God exists only at the same moment you do; the words ascribed to him in The Bible are NOT 'God's words to you' (unless God says them again after you put The Bible down)).

@mythociate No need to argue. At least I share what I have in mind.

@Nakitakona Why do you think my 'clarifying my earlier point' is "arguing"?

I have heard that the Bible was "inspired" by God and in this case, they say the word "inspired" in its original form means breathed into existence by God to the men who then write it down. I guess we can ask God for ourselves someday, but I do think it is like a guidebook for us to figure out how God wants us to live our lives.

... in a way (because--obviously--conditions are VERY different for us than they were for 'his people' BACK THEN).
I look at it in kind-of the way Americans look at The Constitution: it gives us 'the basic outline of the system, and the way it worked for its first users,' and it's changed a little since then (for example (for both documents) slavery was just 'a part of life' at first, but now that legality is HORRIBLE to imagine! or 'the rights of women' have been rearranged now; I don't think The Constitution even MENTIONS 'political parties,' nor are 'denominations' mentioned in The Bible!)
