How does my FREE AntiVirus decide which programs are ''Junk''?

I let my free antivirus 'do a scan' of my desktop-computer. And one of the files it told me was "Junk" was a video-game 'network.'
As I uninstalled & deleted the program, I noticed a few OTHER video-game networks that I haven't used for a long time---not since some time BEFORE I downloaded the program I'm erasing (meMU, an '(Apple) Android Emulator')
What makes THAT 'unused program' "junk" while all the other unused programs are 'necessary'? https://www.avg.com/en/signal/what-are-junk-files?utm_source=commissionjunction&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=100357191&utm_content=14497570&couponfield=yes&cjevent=61e501e6d82811ec821bb96f0a1c0e11

Maybe the programs are prone to viruses?

Oh, it comes with the constant reminder that 'you can UPGRADE.'

I use a paid for service. I think many of them are the same.
