The missus and I were out front yesterday and noticed this little fellow hanging out on the front porch with the cats who live there. He didn't seem at all disturbed by the proximity of two felines and they were paying him no mind at all. He is a blue tail skink, a common sight around here. We are having some rather hot temperatures here. Today might have set a record for high temp on May 20. I don't know how hot it did get, but when I sat down to write this it was 94F/35C and the heat index was 98F/37C. I know it was hotter earlier in the day. Is there a heat wave where you are?

It's winter here so we're more concerned about staying warm. :) Some of the tiny creatures have the most incredible patterns and colours if you can get up close to them.

@JudyEv We've hit that part of our late spring when rain or thunderstorms can pop up nearly every afternoon. And in a week, hurrah, hurricane season starts.

@DWDavis Thanks. It's been pretty good so far although we've had a lot of rain overnight and today. It never gets cold enough to snow.

It's very hot here in my city too. Too hot to be outdoors. Especially at noon.

@DWDavis My job is such that I go in the morning and leave office in the evening. So I am indoors at noon when the temperature is the highest.

Here in the US, we're not smart enough to stay out of the heat.

Ohhh, he's cool lookin' ! We get lizards that are mostly gray . . . your skink looks multicolored. We had some hot days and then warm days . . . now we're at cool (almost cold today). But after this weekend we'll be climbing back up again. I'm sure we'll be getting another heat wave soon enough. Stay cool!

The blue-tailed skinks have beautiful color patterns. We also have the little chameleon lizards that are usually green.

It’s actually cooling down here in Missouri after an early heatwave. And your little friend’s tail is adorable.

Skinks used to be harder to spot. Their numbers must have increased in recent years as we are seeing more of them around here.

Today was much cooler for us as well. It only reached the low 80F/27C range. We did have a rip-snorting thunderstorm roll through this evening though.

A bit, but we can expect temps like this in the summer, so I am not surprised. It'll be officially summer in a month, and Hurricane season in a couple weeks (unless that's somehow changed)

I think we tied our record high (91) today. That little fella isn’t trying to sell you any car insurance, is he?

We are having it on the sunny side, but I'd be surprised if it is above 25

Different temperature. Hot in your end. As I've read from other myLotters here in USA, it's raining. It's raining here in the Philippines too. Then, the temperature in your place is bit high. Keep safe, drink more water.

I had one of those on my porch rail today. At least someone appears to enjoy the heat!
