When I got my first computer, it was a donation from school since my parents were very poor and I was the best kid in class by grades. It was very computer with Windows 95 OS but it did work. It had Office to. I didn't have internet access at home I mostly I played Solitair and FreeCell games. In those time, those were already embed games.
What did you play as kid?

When I was a kid, the only computers took up full rooms of space. After I graduated from High School, I couldn't afford to buy a computer, even though they no longer took up entire rooms. When I could afford a computer, I knew nothing about video games. I just talked with people on my first computer.
I play solitaire and freecell on my phone now. My laptop is only used to watch movies and talk on myLot.

@mrki444 - Yes, we went through the evolution of computers. From the very simple first DOS computers with green phosphor monitors. no HD and only floppy discs, to more sophisticated computers with colors and graphics and a Hard Disc where to store your data.

I played outside as a kid . As far as electronic games, I did have an Atari game system in my early teens (Pong, Space Invaders, PacMan - those kinds of games). We didn't have computers - in fact I didn't really deal with computers until the early 90s - at work.

We got our first desktop computer way back 1997 I think, there's not a lot of PC games back then so me and my siblings settled with hearts, freecell, oh and my favorite minesweeper (this proves that I am old LOL!). I've got addicted to Mario that runs on DOS.

I think my mother bought a computer when I was 14. I did have internet back then. But it was nothing like it is today. I did play Solitaire and FreeCell. We also got computer games to play on it.

I remember those days with my first computer as well. My first computer was not with Windows 95 OS. It comes with Windows 3.1. Maybe you're not aware of it. When you open this kind of computer OS, after pressing the power button, while loading, you can even go to your kitchen and do some coffee or some stuff then when you go back to your computer, still opening the OS. The fastest was about 5 minutes and the slowest depends upon your internet connectivity was 10 minutes until it totally open the computer. Lol. See the difference from the computers then and now.

That's such a nice scholarship from school for a talented and economically challenged student.
My father bought me a computer with Windows XP, 128 MB RAM, 80 GB harddisk after I passed my 10th grade with 86% marks. The first game which I installed and played on it was VirtuaCop 2.
