Mom Had A Stroke

Right when I started writing again, my 77 year old mom has a stroke. She’s okay. She spent 3 days in the hospital more for pneumonia than the stroke. Sadly, she has refused any physical therapy and gone right back to smoking! Seems like she’s determined to have a second stroke and there is nothing I can do about it. Has anyone else dealt with an elderly parent who just will not follow doctor’s orders and take care of themself?

Good thing that your mom is now in good condition. Keep her healthy always.

I am very sorry for your Mom. My mother had a stroke when she was 97, she only lived a few weeks after the stroke.

That's so disappointing, I'm sure. I can't imagine that not scaring me into changing my behavior.

My dad smoked three packs a day and snuck smokes in the hospital after his first heart attack.

That's a shame that your mother won't do anything to help herself. As you say, there is little you can do about it.

Sorry about your Mom but wish she would be more careful.
