One of the shows I watch while I eat (mostly just 'to have sound playing') is E!'s DAILY POP, and they mentioned last weekend's season-finale of SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE ... but they said some things that might 'hurt the SNL-stars' feelings. One, they said that Kyle Mooney 'didn't get a farewell like Aidy, Kate & Pete did.' Like I (an outside-of-the-industry audience-member) sort-of said that I didn't see his farewell, THEY (big 'insiders') said that they weren't sure he got one! The deal is; I think I even posted 'a picture FROM his closing skit' in the discussion where I said I didn't see it! (He's the guy in the middle, and--almost as a way of "making up for" all the skits where he plays a 'whipped' cuckold--he's playing 'the husband of ALL these lovely old women' in that last skit!) Another thing DAILY POP said ... They said SNL is "just a STEPPING-STONE" in the entertainment-industry! ... Oh, I'm sure they're right in many ways (and I think they 'paid credit to the fact that the show is a "national monument" on the level of Atlantic City's Boardwalk, SNL's neighbor Broadway, the HOLLYWOOD sign, etc.) But I was immediately 'offended' on behalf of people who have made SNL their main business (at least in my audience-mind): longtime player Kenan Thompson, show-starter & -producer Lorne Michaels, tenured player Cicely Strong, and probably lots of others I'm missing (tho I'm right, those are the only 'long-timers' still on the cast for next season). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Saturday_Night_Live_cast_members#Longest_tenures The main reason DAILY POP thinks that is (they say) SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE doesn't pay cast-members full-time wages! (Tho I don't know where they're getting that ... SNL players are paid two- or three-times the average television-star---maybe DP is thinking 'by-the-hour' or something).

I have not watched Saturday Night Live since I was in college in the mid-1980s. I stopped watching it because it stopped being funny.

@mythociate We will leave it at the fact that you and I have different senses of humor.

@Chellezhere Well, SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE's "sense of humor" is the one we're talking about. And its 'best stuff' always has been a form of "wouldn't it be crazy if ..." skits. They practically STARTED the news-comedy idea, and now THAT (i.e. it's later descendants---THE DAILY SHOW, LATE NIGHT with Stephen Colbert, REAL TIME with BILL MAHER) are where I get almost ALL my news! You ought to watch at least one show a season, to see if maybe they haven't changed back to the way you like
