Growing up on the east coast and living in the Chesapeake Bay region of the country I did a lot of fishing growing up. The biggest thing that I ever caught was a cownose ray. I don't know the exact weight of it but I would estimate somewhere around 50 pounds. They are mean when you pull them up too. That particular year we were in a drought so the salinity level of the bay was at an all time high. Ray's normally live in the southern part of the bay because the salinity is higher, that year they migrated north. I have also caught a few striped bass (we call them rockfish) in excess of 45 inches. I haven't been fishing in the bay for many years, but you can catch some really monster fish in it if you use the right bait and know the right places.

the biggest I ever caught was trolling in a boat with my grandpa. I thought I got snagged so he started to back up and told me to start reeling in.
Well I brought up a 5lb walleye an my grandpa was as surprised as I was. I was 11 at the time. So every time I saw him he would always say Igot a snag, I got a snag. Not funny. But then he told me he would never take me fishing again which he did and I out fished him everytime.
