Cancelling reservations due to Covid: Travel tips from a travel agent

When cancelling any kind of travel reservation - hotel. cruise reservations. car rental. or flights. please remember that when you use Covid as an alibi or excuse be ready for the following: 1. The tourism industry does not easily go for the usual excuse that you had Covid. Rapid home test kits are not honored by hotels and airlines nor are they accepted by any company in the industry. They are a lot smarter than you think. 2. Before you use Covid as an alibi or excuse. make sure you have an RT-PCR test as this will be certified by doctor that you indeed had Covid. Your rapid test kits do not matter as they do not have a means to prove it is yours. Again as you may check on my previous posts. check the cancellation policy of your reservation first. Telling the truth does not really hurt.
