I have been a diabetic for around 20 years and I have started 16:8 intermittent fasting and is finding my sugars are getting down. Sometimes I might not be able to intermittent fasting, but I think I should try to persist with this. What is your opinion of intermittent fasting for diabetes and weight loss and your experience?

It is supposed to be good but then it's not good for everyone. You have to do it under strict medical supervision and also keep in mind your BMI and weight. If you are on lower side of weight, it would not be advised.
I am type 1.5 insulin dependent diabetic. Not all diabetics are same and not one formula works for all. Understand your body and your kind of diabetes. Discuss it well with your doctor and dietician.

it is just sensible to consult your doctor to see if intermittent fasting is safe for you.
From my experience when I was doing intermittent fasting my weight went down, I felt lighter and my sugar went down also. There are many benefits to intermittent fasting, more so if you match it with a good diet and exercise.
More a lifestyle if you treat it as such than a fad diet and it is beneficial.
Good luck.
