Thanks to the heart of compassion shown by New York State Environmental Conservation Officer Darci Doughtery who had finished her late night shift on Friday when she saw a kitten with a plastic cup trapped inside of the head of the kitten which could have suffocated the animal had the officer not stopped to do her part to remove the plastic cup off of the kitten's head.
Officer Daughtery was able to remove the lid from the cup. She had to cut the through the lid to free the kitten and adopt the kitten as the newest member of her family.
What bothers Officer Daughtery is that the person who drank from the plastic cup should have disposed of the cup in a manner that would have prevented the kitten from getting his or her head inside of the first place.
In my view the kitten saw the cup somewhere on a road in Ellery and he or she being thirsty decided to have something to drink not realizing the trouble the kitten would get into by having his or her head inside of the plastic cup.
My respects to Officer Daughtery for showing compassion to a small kitten by saving the life of the animal and then adding the kitten to her own family.

I bet he gets a funny name after his situation. Jinx, Catastrophe, etc.

I am sure that is the name that the kitten will have from the new owner.

I agree with you. The kitten looks like my youngest kitten named Sparky.

@RebeccasFarm Sparky looks like a younger version of my late cat Relish.

I share the same thoughts that the kitten will now have a new home.

Hungry kitten will do everything to feed itself especially when it's a stray one.
