So I mentioned my phone will no longer work in a few weeks because my phone company no longer operates on 3G. Whatever that means. My brother-in-law is buying me an iphone, the first non Android I've ever had. Anyone have any advice on how to use it? All I like to do is text and take pictures. I hope I'm not wasting it.

You will like your iPhone. Or I should say, I love my iPhone. The photos are stunning. I rarely use my other cameras now. I am impressed with the camera on mine. And I am still learning things about mine, after a few years of having it.

The cell phone service I have warned us months ago about the 3 G thing. We updated our Androids and had to put a special 4G code into it for it to work. Thank goodness it works well.

My husband isn't very tech savvy, but he loves his iPhone. If you like to take photos, make sure to either get the max storage or one in the middle. The base options really aren't that much. Other then that, iPhones are pretty simple to use. The only thing you might miss from Android, is the back button.

I went from an android to an iPhone a few phones ago.
I really prefer the iPhone over the android, I find it easier to use.
The 1 thing that I had to learn was how to turn off the sound, which is just a button on the left hand side, that you push down.

I didn't see the appeal of Iphones when I was using androids but ever since I had one they are very user friendly but they keep "forcing" you to buy the newer versions though...

I didn't feel forced to get a new iphone. Mine was a 6s, and it was just nearly worn out from years of use. Before that one, I had an Android. iphones are tons easier, and the pictures are really good, too. So this new one is my second iphone, and I have learned to really like it.

@MarieCoyle Apple has a reputation of making your phone slow when it is updated if it is an older model (which they admitted to in a news article I forgot which article that was) which happened to one of my family's iphone when it got "updated" now we don't update our iphones if we can help it...

That must be a really ancient phone you have there, because the telephone signal is barely 3G. I hope you appreciate the latest iPhone because it is much faster and the photographs are much clearer than the older models. With the latest iPhone model, texting can be lot easier to use, and additional capabilities are now available.

They are tryig to put 5G in around here. My last phone was 4G and didn't want to work on the 5G network. This one is 4G but it seems to work fine in either a 4G or 5G area.

The same thing happened to me. My son got me an iPhone too. I’m able to do what I need to. I may never learn all of the features on it.

I am swapping out my phone for free with Boost Mobile. I am choosing a simple flip phone like the one I have now. Sorry, I've never had a smartphone. Have a good week.
