If you have ever been to this state of India you would know what important place sweets occupy in the social life.
Sweet shops are a huge business.
You will have sweets on birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, for success in exams, for landing jobs. To make it short, any occasion is good for sweets.
Yesterday was a day of sweets for me.
Our society bought a new school bus , we got sweets.
A newlywed couple visited us , they gave us a heavy packet of sweets.
I bought sweets to distribute to some families on successful casting of concrete roof on my house.
No wonder, diabetes is a common ailment in these parts. Those who suffer from it have to live with it and sometimes die of it .

We were surprised when we went to Luxor, Egypt, that everyone had 4 or 5 teaspoons of sugar in their tea. I should imagine sugar diabetes is bad there too.

I do eat sweets but I consume them to a minimum. And I drink a lot of water.

I love sweets and limit them to once a week. I had some M&M cookies tonight. I only ate two of them.

Rightly said. Sweets are a significant part of all our celebrations no matter small or big ones in India. One can eat in proportion and workout so as to stay away from diabetes. Have a good day. Take care
