If you know someone has to die, would you inform him?

Imagine one of your friends has for example cancer, and by a mistake of the doctors you get knowledge about the fact he has to die in a few weeks. Would you tell him in the case he does not know? Give him the chance to do things he wants to? Or do you think it is better to let him the last weeks without trouble? I am in great discrepance. Give me your ideas please.
