Is Microsoft Edge so incompatible with Google Chrome that the two Browsers can't even be on the same MACHINE?

I've been having some problems with Microsoft's Microsoft Rewards program. Today it finally 'dawned on me' that it may have something to do with the fact that I run both the Microsoft Edge browser AND the Google Chrome browser on my one desktop-computer (with a Window-OS, by-the-way ... "Edition - Windows 10 Education, Version - 21H1, Installed on ?9/?11/?2020, OS build - 19043.1766, Experience - Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4180.0"). I didn't think that was weird, because nobody I know had ever talked about it! But it came up as 'possibly weird' when--on the Microsoft Rewards dashboard (ON the Microsoft Edge browser)--the page told me that I could earn three times as many points if I switched browsers (as if I were using Chrome to read the page, when I actually had Chrome running in the background). I would understand that if Google Chrome were my machine's default browser, but it's not' Microsoft Edge is set as the default browser! Can you tell what the deal is?

Chrome is one of the best browsers, so which one will you delete?

If I have to delete either, I'd probably delete both; because I've heard about- (and maybe 'unknowingly downloaded'-) Chromium.

@mythociate It is all very confusing to someone who is not an IT. I never had a class but learned everything on my own. I had no idea what I was doing for years, it seems.

I have neever used MS Edge browser in my personal laptop but has sometime had to use the same in my office machine chorme is not installed. In my view IE is better that Edge with not modern features, Chorme is very good to use unless it start eating so much of memory. It could stall old computers with less ram hence cannot be used in those. I would recommedn chrome over Edge even MS give some reward for using it.

Hmm ... I might. And I could even 'switch back to Edge' if I wanted to, right?

I do MS Rewards too and have a lot of trouble with it. There is often a streak breaker activity that does not work. Writing a ticket for missing points or anything else no longer works. I only use Edge for MS Rewards. I use Chrome for everything else. I am at the point where I don't go for streaks anymore and don't go on it at all on weekends. MS is always pushing for me to upload Win 11. I don't want to do that because when I changed from Win 8.1 to Win 10 several years ago, my laptop crashed. I hate technology.

Yep, "downfall of the country!" my roommate always exclaims (when our WIFI television briefly disconnects ... before she turns to her iPhone to surf the Internet).
