I just love the way they think........

My evaporative cooler and how I use the water runoff with hose and pvc pipe.

The picture has nothing to do with the theme of this discussion but I thought I would show you what an evaporative air cooler is like. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I was so very impressed with the following video. Up until I saw this I had no idea whatsoever what Istanbul was like or for that matter why many people like to visit there. Now I know. If I were still young with all the energy I had and of course more money than I had I would want to visit this country. People should always be considerate of the animals that share our world. What is your opinion?

Istanbul is beautiful, I visited many years ago and it was a great experience. I also have a documentary that shows what the ancient Romans did to secure the Santa Sofia because of the frequent strong earthquakes. Well, it worked, because it is still up.

Did you get to see these stray cats or dogs at any point?

@rebelann I have seen many stray cats and dogs, I would say more cats than dogs. They are very friendly and sweet.

Thanks for the clip. That was really interesting and how nice that the Turkish people look after their stray animals so well.

You're welcome. They are an old civilization and from what I heard it has been like this for hundreds of years.

Yes, that's what I read as well. Apparently cats have sought shelter in an ancient mosque ever since it had been built which I think they said was about 500 or more years ago.

I'm going to put my bamboo somewhere around there but I have to make sure I can keep it's roots from spreading under my mobile home.

Well, at least in Istanbul they are well cared for and even have blankets and shelters if it gets cold.

Nice job on the pipe. I always thought these were portable AC units. Wow those Turks really love the animals. Good to see this.

Not in the desert areas, it's the cheapest way to cool our homes around here plus in my case I am allergic to freon which I've been told is what powers an Air Conditioner.

Hey, they think like the folks in Riga, Latvia you can also see cat houses on the street in the capital and in the suburbs in the wooded areas people build cat houses for them as well.

I like the message of the video that humans should be nicer to animals instead of being mean to them.

@rebelann I am with you since harming an animal is very mean.
