OOOOH, That Smell!

As I mentioned when I started this adventure, I spent the first night (Sunday night) at a campground, sleeping in my car. I learned I need to make a lot of modifications to things.
I also discovered why people love to camp. Ooooh, that smell.
No, not the “smell of death around you” that Lynyrd Skynyrd sang about. The absolute antithesis, actually: the smell of LIFE.
If you’ve ever been in a natural surrounding and awakened, stepped outside, and smelled the incredible, indescribable air, you know what I mean. Otherwise, I can only tell you that you have to go somewhere and smell it for yourself, because it truly cannot be explained.
The left photo is what I got a glimpse of out of my “hotel window” Monday morning after I pulled my shade off the back window. That’ll perk ya right up! After that tantalizing aroma of nature, I went to the dam, which is where the right photo was taken.
Yeah, that’s a way to start off a trip!
PS: here’s the Skynyrd tune.

@RebeccasFarm — yes. I have Symbicort for the “preventative” work, and albuterol for emergencies.

I have an inhaler, too. I’m usually out of trouble in summer, but in the spring that smell would have me in the emergency room, so I get where you’re coming from.

@FourWalls You're welcome. There's always some tweaking needed the first night spent in a vehicle.

Lovely place. You reminded me of what I miss the scent of pines while walking through the forests we had back in Latvia there is no scent like it in nature and just wonderful,

No horsey poop in the air, which is what you usually smell when you go out.

@FourWalls Yes, that's true. Even horse poop doesn't smell like it used to as they feed them so many minerals and additives now.

Yes, I get what you're saying. That place is incredible, and it is quiet and inspiring. I wish I could do the same since I've been feeling like I've been trapped in a city jungle for a long time, and living in the city is quite stressful. Getting into a place like that is just a great way to pass the time.

@FourWalls I nearly grew up in the provinces too. As an adult, I've been working in the capital city for the past 20 years. I have to admit that I do miss living there, where time seems to pass more slowly and people seem to live simpler lives. You might make more money if you live in a city, but the stress of city living will deplete your energy.

There are some people who love city life, but I couldn’t live in a crowded city like New York or, based on what I’ve seen of it, Tokyo, because it’s too cramped.

I love the place. I can imagine how nice the breeze of air in that place. I experienced that before when we had a vacation in a nice place like that too

@m_audrey6788 — YES. There’s nothing quite like a summer day in the south. A blast furnace comes close, however.

It was so terrific. I’m glad I did it when I did, too, because it’s too hot now for anything but the nice air-conditioned hotel room.

I love going out on trips and having fun in nature. I’ll be going home soon because of the heat and the upcoming holiday weekend next week (I don’t like to be on the road during holidays, because of the crowds, traffic, and increased prices)., but it’s so much fun right now!

nice.
nothing beats the smell in the early morning, especially if you put on some steaming hot coffee after you wake up!

The smell of nature is so much better than anything you can spray or add to the air. It is good for you all over.

The smell of a campfire: nice. The smell of a threatened skunk: not so nice.

The campground volunteer showed me video of a skunk mama and her four kiddies walking through not too long before I got there. I tend to give all wildlife a wide berth.

Well, seems like you got your "Kicks" with nature. And not the Paul Revere and the Raiders kind either. "In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous."
Enjoy the tune and hope you enjoyed those nature kicks too!
