My shopping adventure today.

I went shopping today down town again. I went later than usual today because I also went for my repeat prescription and I didn't want to be too early going for it. I wore a mac with a hood that I got free with an order from Damart once, because it was threatening rain. I set off at about 11:15am with my sandwich in the trolley and a couple of letters to post. I took the trolley out the front door again because my Mum STILL hasn't dismantled the old one. When I was coming round by the allotments round the corner from my house, the hedge was really overgrown and the nettles were jutting out over the path! It was a good job I was wearing trousers or my legs would have been stung! I walked round the top path round Stowe Pool again and the first thing I did was go to the toilet by the Cathedral. While I was in there I took out my tablet which I had taken with me, and I made a video in the toilet with a view to putting it on YouTube! I decided I would do another one later aswell! (When I got home and rewatched the video I decided it was awful and not worth putting on YouTube. I was being interrupted by other people coming into the toilet and you would hear them washing their hands and drying them with the hand dryers and stuff and I was whispering and you could hardly hear me!) What I was really doing by making the video was seeing if it could be done with no Wi-Fi and it worked so that was a plus. At least I know it works now even if the video itself was no good! After that I posted the letters in the post box outside Superdrug and then I went to Holland and Barrett to get a bottle of Kombucha. They used to have quite a few flavours of the small bottles of Kombucha but now they seem to have reduced to only three: Original, Raspberry and Ginger and Lemon. I had the Ginger and Lemon flavour. Then I went and sat on a bench and ate my sandwich and drank some of my kombucha. After that I went to Rileys to get some fruit and vegetables. I didn't need to get much today, just strawberries, half a cucumber and some soft chewy fruit sweets. I think it came to £3 something. Then I went to Waterstones to look for a book about Cardiff but they didn't have one. I think maybe the only place you can find books about Cardiff is in Cardiff! (And on Amazon!) So I had a look round other sections just to kill some time. After that I was bursting for a wee so I went to the toilet in the pub (24 Market Street). Then I ordered a cappuccino with soy milk. The lady said she'd go and check they had soy milk. But instead of coming back and taking my money and saying she'd bring it over, she started making it there and then and then brought it over to me at the bar before taking my money. I put my purse away and was going to try and carry the cup and saucer with both hands but the cup was very full. It was one of those transparent cups. So the lady said, Can you manage that? and I said, I don't know, so she said, It's all right, I'll bring it over to you. Where are you sitting? and I said, Over there, and I pointed to where the trolley was. So then I went and sat down and she brought it over. It was very tasty and it had a free biscuit as usual. When I'd finished drinking it I spooned out the froth! After I'd drunk my cappuccino I went to the Oxfam book shop and bought 6 books! They were all from the sci-fi section. One was Pandora by Anne Rice. I got 2 books by Clive someone, one was called The Lost City and the other was called Ghost Ship. I also got Book 1 of the Dark Tower series, The Last Gunslinger I think it's called, by Stephen King. The other 2 were your average sci-fi fair about alien planets and stuff but they sounded interesting. You know I really should stop buying so many books. Like I told my Mum today, my bedroom's not a bedroom, it's a library! Then I went to the Cathedral toilets again because by now I was bursting for the loo again. I don't know why but I always seem to want the loo! After that I went up to the Green Hill Health Centre to pick up my repeat prescription. You have to go up quite a steep hill and then you have to wait at two different crossings and you have to press this button on this machine thing and there's a standing red man which means don't walk. You have to wait till the walking man lights up green then you can cross. But you can only cross to the middle of the road where you have to stop and push another button then wait for another little green man to light up before you can cross the second half of the road! Then I have another hilly bit to climb before I come to a main road which I have to cross in the same manner! And it takes ages for the little green man to light up! But I got there in the end! When I did manage to get to the health centre there was no-one there! Not waiting outside or inside at the booths. So I went straight in and into a booth and I was out in only a few minutes. Makes a change from the times when we were queueing for like an hour! But before I came out I went into the reception area and I was going to book an appointment for my review which is due in July. But when I went and inquired about booking an appointment for my review, the lady said they can't book appointments at the desk, I have to phone them up. So she wrote out this card with the number on, then when I phone the number, first I have to select option 1, then I have to select option 2, and then I should be through to a specialist review number to book my review. But I can only do it between the hours of 10:00am and 3:00pm! So I came out without booking my review! And guess what I did after that? Yes, you guessed it, back to the toilet by the Cathedral! And then I made my second video. I only got interrupted once during this second video but I still can't use it because I referenced the other video in it and what good is that if I'm not using the first video? In this video I would have shown my medicine and all the books I had bought, laying them out on the baby changing unit for you to see! Never mind I'll try making some more videos another time and see if they're good enough to use. By now it was nearly 3:00pm, and I set off for home. I got home at approx 3:30pm, brought the trolley in through the front again, and I unpacked the trolley and took my books into my bedroom. And because it was after 3:00pm I couldn't phone to book up my review. I'll have to do it on Monday, but there's no rush. I don't have to go till July. I hope you've had a nice day.

Glad you got your meds quickly. You had a nice shopping time, got all you wanted too, great. Age does that, to us ... knowing where public restrooms are, is a lifesaver. Wouldn't a video of the wildlife of your area, better than something in the loo?

Thank you very much. Yes, I'm glad I got my meds quickly. Yes, I guess a video of the wildlife would be better, but don't knock the video in the loo - it was actually rather funny!

Ah, thank you very much. That is very kind of you. Yes, I am busy and energetic! I can do a lot of things much faster when my Mum's not with me because she's very slow these days. I did accomplish many things, yes. It's my birthday on 10th July so on the 8th which is the Friday we're going to go and get me a birthday lunch while we're round town.

A busy day. Is there a reason you don't want to make the videos at home?

Yes, it was a busy day. Oh, I don't mind doing videos at home but they'll have to be done when my Mum and step-dad are out or else confined to my bedroom and I just wanted to see if I could make a video out of the house without Wi-Fi and it worked so I'm glad about that and now I might do more videos when I'm out and about!

You really had a busy day. Would be nice if you could make pictures of the places you write about. It sounds so different than towns here.

Sounds like you had a full day. Sounds like you enjoyed the day. My day was kind of slow, slow work day, inflation catching up with us I suppose, but we still hit what we needed to do so that is good.
