Remembering when Pictures were 'Special'

Before 'The Internet,' pictures were a special thing. But now, I can open a website & either sub-click a picture and simply 'save it to my disk,' or open a photo-program and use that to copy the photo onto my disk. If I wanted a 'REAL photo' (i.e. a photo of something near you), you had to own a camera, buy some film, take the picture, take it to a photo-developer & wait a few days (unless you had a fully-loaded Polaroid-camera). And you could only "share" it if you had gotten copies made ... otherwise, you could only SHOW it to passers-by. That came up when--learning that today is Global Beatles Day--I felt no "remorse" at simply downloading about a dozen of their old pictures and posting them on my blog. http://bythesewords.blogspot.com/p/mini-album-of-proto-beatles.html

I had used that old camera when had to buy the film roles. That was a difficult way to get the photos.
