The Love of Books

I have always loved books. I used to have scads of them. They used to be needed in a household but, not so nowadays. It is rather sad. A home needed a library full of books by the best authors, books for research, dictionaries, and such to really be a home. All used to be needed. Nowadays we can put a few words in a search engine and find all we could possibly want on any given subject. Today during my usual wondering about the web I found a site, ThoughtCo.com, and I wanted to share some of the words we never knew we needed that were listed in an article on the subject. They are real words and most can be found in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary: * Abibliophobia - The fear of running out of things to read. * Bibliobibuli - The type of people who read too much. * Bibliognost - One who has a comprehensive knowledge of books. * Bibliophagist - An avid or voracious reader. * Biblioopole - A dealer especially in rare or curious books.

That’s quite an interesting list. I still have my books. One wall in my living room is my library and I go to the local library. I don’t like ebooks. I want a book in my hand with pages to turn. I’m still old school.

I used to have my shelves full of books. Some are in boxes now. My shelves have Lego and grandson originals in them.

@RubyHawk ..........Little? Toys? He is nineteen and these 'toys' are his favorite pass time of building things. He takes Lego and constructs things. He is a big kid.

The internet is very useful for searching about words and gives lot of knowledge that books used to give earlier.

My ex-husband and I used to play a game where we would pick a word out of the dictionary and share it with the other.

This is interesting. During my college days, I had a handy notebook which I used to write down any words I may come across while reading. I put a title on it - my new found words.

I read online. I read on paper. I read on audio. I have lots of books... I probably have a couple of hundred on my "to be read" shelves... actually I've got a whole little bookcase - used to be a VHS shelf, but I use it for books. I do still have VHS tapes too...
