She said she was homesick

My great niece lived with me when she was a little girl. Just for about three years.
She and her daughter live with her mother. She does not lack for anything, but the other day she said she was homesick.
She said she missed the smell of coffee at my house in the mornings. So she went out and bought herself some Maxwell House, as that is what she remembers me using. I probably used several things, but that is what she remembers.
I know it is more like nostalgia than homesickness, and I did not correct her. It is a sweet memory. I reminded her that before school in the morning she would sit between Bob and I on the porch swing while we drank our coffee. I am not surprised it is a good memory for her.

It's difficult to forget people who love you. I have an aunt in my city who loves me a lot but I can't visit her even though I want to as I am not keeping well.

@GardenGerty I always have to be on guard and because she is staying far way I can't visit her.

I always felt like I was pretty strict.

@GardenGerty I often feel I was too strict with my boys. If I had it to do over I’d be much more lenient.

It would not be the same as it is a different house. We do see each other on some holidays. She lives with her mom and Katy, the twenty nine year old, does not drive.

We visited at Easter. I do not live in the house I had when she was little, but we still get together at holidays.

It is funny to me the things she remembers. Homesick fit okay as I knew what she meant.

It's nice to have sweet memories. It's more like nostalgia.
