On the road, that is. Traveling for work. It was nice having a three-day weekend with the 4th of July holiday, but now it's back to the grind and onward and upward as I often like to say.
Another four days on the road headed to Wisconsin, then Minnesota, then Iowa, down through Illinois and home.
Provided tonight's MegaMillions lottery rolls from the current $370 million, which I suspect it probably will, I'll be a player in all four states. Presumably a loser in all four states as well. lol
I will take up temporary residence in Delafield, Wisconsin tonight. Eau Claire, Wisconsin tomorrow. And Davenport, Iowa Thursday night.
Hopefully with gas prices the way they are this turns into a profitable trip, even though the company pays for my gas.

How long until they make you drive an electric car? Haha
Have a safe road trip. Don’t get into any trouble along the way.

@porwest That’s how it is at the job I work at now. All conservatives, leaning very far to the right. I’m a conservative too, but I’m a little closer to the center than the far right. At my last job, I was the only one in our office who was not a bleeding heart liberal.

@moffittjc Being in an office like that can be tough. I can't handle stupidity, and unfortunately there is no other way to describe a liberal.

I hope you will be a winner in all four states. I wonder if it ever happened that a person played the same lotto (with the same numbers) in more than one state and then won big in each one.

@porwest it does seem silly.

@lovebuglena lol. Yes. Although it might cost adjust some of the taxes since each state taxes lottery winnings differently. Maybe it would be cost effective? lol

3 days' weekend was awesome. Being back to the grindstone is unavoidable.

Wishing you a profitable trip. Hope you won the lottery. I did not. $15.4 million cash option now. No one won.

@porwest What does it mean when a drawing "rolls". Saw a movie (true story) about a couple that used math equations to win lottery after lottery. They mentioned the drawing "rolling" too.

@LindaOHio When no one wins the jackpot the jackpot rolls to the next drawing at a higher amount. Because no one won the $375 million in Tuesday's drawing, the jackpot rolled to $400 million for Friday's drawing.

@TheSojourner lol. Buying a better car is a great idea. Unfortunately I am stuck with what the company tells me I have to drive for my trips. Granted, it's a Chevy Silverado (tsk, tsk, I am a Ford guy). But the thing has almost 300,000 miles on it and the best I can tell it's a damn heap. Okay, it's not that bad. But it IS a Chevy. (I am a Ford guy). One thing I can say is that Chevy's are NOT built for comfort. Granted, Ford's are extra comfortable so you can sit better while you wait for a tow truck to arrive. lol. BUT.
For whatever it is worth, my own vehicle is a Ford F-150 and is ten times more comfortable than the company truck, even on extended trips.

The 4th of July in the United States is a Federal holiday and therefore, most people have off aside from restaurants and retail and of course law enforcement, fire protection, hospitals and the like. But at the same time because it is a Federal holiday, anyone working on the holiday still gets paid the holiday time on top of their regular pay.
