Yes, here’s another song that’s 50 years old. You’ll probably hear this on “classic rock” satellite or radio today and think, “Wow, really? It’s been 50 years since this one came out?” Yep. Sing along! Doctor My Eyes - Jackson Browne Your worthless trivia: Jackson’s first name isn’t Jackson. That’s his middle name. His first name is Clyde, which probably explains why he goes by “Jackson.” And yes, Browne had a hit in 1982. His biggest hit, in fact: “Somebody’s Baby.” But dang that’s a boring song. He later said of it, “It’s so hard to write a song about nothing.” Yeah, tell me about it. But not this song. It’s a great song showcasing Browne as one of the great “introspective” singer/songwriters of the early 70s. Doctor My Eyes Written by Jackson Browne Recorded by Jackson Browne From Jackson Browne, 1972 (Today’s 1982 song: “Empty Garden (Hey Hey Johnny)”) Is this the price:

I did not know that Jackson Browne uses his middle name. I like his songs like "Stay" as well as "Brown Eyed Girl."

Yes, we have to add him to the list. I suppose the most famous person who uses his middle name is Paul McCartney. PS: “Brown Eyed Girl” was Van Morrison, not Jackson Browne.

@FourWalls Also the late Donna Summer who used her middle name since her birth name was Adrienne LaDonna Gaines. My error with confusing Van Morrison's song to Jackson Browne.

Wow, 50 years ago! My first intro to the lyrical mastery of Jackson Browne. An artist I frequently play even after wearing out his vinyl records, lol. A look into viewing the world either in rose-colored glasses or the stark reality it often can be. Great pick! Although almost anything by Jackson would be a thumbs up for me

I had to flip a coin between this and “Rock Me on the Water.” I think that is an infinitely better song, but this one’s better known.

Lots of songs people don’t know by their titles, especially from the 70s where titles and song lyrics rarely matched.
