I was at my friend's last night, too. All I had was beans. Now, I do like pinto beans. I've made them myself to eat with eggs and potatoes or with some white rice, but they're always "with" something. In addition, my host LOVES spicy food. I don't. I like beans seasoned with salt and pork fat or lard. He put hot sauce in these. And, apple cider vinegar - who puts vinegar in these kinds of beans. I did eat them, but I didn't want any more of them. However, if he wants to get rid of them, I can make chili with them. All the seasonings of the chili will merge with the seasonings in the beans and add a little heat to the chili, which I don't mind if it's mild. I'll find out in a bit if I get to take them.

I don't like spicy food either. We had pinto beans every night when I was growing up.

@jerzgirl I still like them also. They are my favorite type of beans.

@misunderstood_zombie I do, too. Especially with good tortillas.

I like spicy food. But I have never tried adding vinegar to any such preparation.
