I Forgot!

I don't do much around here. I used to hold down a full-time job, did all of the housework, and took care of a troubled teen. Now I have major depression with panic attacks. My daughter does the bulk of the housework with help from my grandson.
But, I do several things to help out. I set up transportation for my daughter and grandson to their medical appointments. I check and do research for them when it is needed. Anything online or in the way of telephone calls is what I do. I also have the responsibility for my daughter's bank account since she is bipolar and ordered to not have an account of her own. I am her payee. I keep track of our finances and make sure that the rent and utilities are paid monthly.
This month I forgot to set up my grandson's meds check appointment. I luckily had enough money in my account to pay for an Uber to and from his appointment. I felt bad. I usually am on top of things and do better.

Don't beat yourself up for forgetting something. It happens. Are you on medication for your depression and panic attacks? I hope so.

Yes, I am. I am not beating myself up too bad. I just feel bad that I forgot.

I can understand how that feels. I am the technical wizard in my family. I'm the one with all the know-how. But, even I am human. It's okay to fail, and it's okay to feel bad about it. You resolved the situation and still got things done.

I am blaming all of my slip ups on the heat. I am glad you had a way to get him there. That is a lot of responsibility.

I do what I am able. I am good at math and so I can do the finances. Not hard or a lot to do really. Have a monthly list that I go by. I just get in and get it done.

Yes, or get side tracked with too much going on.

Everyone forgets things sometimes. It sounds to me like you do a lot for your family. Give yourself a bit of grace, you're good.
