why do we celebrate new year?

I think business man first introduced to celebrate new year to give some gift to their clients. Thus it became a fashion in our society. I do not think any benefit of it rather waste of time and money without any result. Whatever is now it because a menia and we celebrate it without knowing its cause and effect - just other do a and I do.

The new year is like a new beginning hence making new years resolutions. We celebrate it to look forward to making the "new beginning" better than the last.
