The grackles seem not to mind the heat of a July Texas summer heat wave!

The black crows, grackles, some call them ravens. But they are actually Grackles. There are a family of grackles, that come to our back yard every single year. Like clockwork. It's kind of unusual to see many at once. But when I put out water, and old biscuits and cornbread, they come around, and compete for food and water with the local squirrels. This is interesting to see.I was not able to find that picture in my files that show the grackles but I will share a title pic of the back yard in the evening one Monday in June

I only know about Grackles because they were mentioned on an episode of Elementary. I have been putting food out for the birds, but they seem to have found a swankier place to eat!

I really have empathy for your situation. It has been SO HOT in Texas. I can't complain about our 90 degree heat and brown grass. We finally got some rain yesterday. All the animals appreciate your water and food during this heat wave. Have a good day.

With the heatwave we're seeing in southern Missouri, I'm sure it's miserable in Texas. We've been hitting the 100F mark for several weeks and are supposed to hit 110F this coming week here. I don't know how people are managing it. Pretty and I stay in the house with the A/C on as much as we can. (We go out and water our flowerbed and the pots of veggies we have growing on the porch, go to the grocery store twice a month and to doctor appointments and that's all we do. I hope you and your wife are doing well and staying out of the heat, too.
