Had A Surprise Call Last Night

Last night about 10:30p. I got a phone call on my cell. Not being used to getting calls at this time of night I was a little startled. When I saw who was calling I was even more startled. My grandson's dad had decided to call. We hadn't heard from him since May of 2021. Then they had a bit of a falling out and his dad was angry the last we knew. He had been very spotty as far as being a dad. Didn't get in touch with us until my grandson was about 8 years old. Of course, we have our opinion but now, after talking to him last night, I wonder. He wants to be a part of his son's life and isn't sure how to go about it. I told him to take it slow and see what transpires. I am sure that my grandson will be excited to hear from him and we will see how it all goes. I guess I can understand his side of things. He is afraid and not sure how to go about getting in good standing with his son again. He also wants to help his son be more responsible. I think that being a good role model in that refrain is long past. We will see what goes on from here on out. It is all a bit confusing right now.
