So, I'm an old BTS ARMY, and?

I am always proud of being an ARMY - A BTS ARMY. This is the worldwide fandom of the South Korean boy band, BTS. Many people think that just because they are young men that their fans would only be "screaming teenagers" and some often discount them as just fans. But I'm proud to say that I'm 60+, and many in the fandom are older people. Professionals who are doctors, teachers, lawyers, etc. ARMY often donates to charitable institutions. It's because BTS are not your typical boy band, they're causing a positive revolution with their meaningful songs. Most of their songs talk about social issues, social inequality, youth empowerment, and the likes. One person asked me one day while I was traveling if I was a BTS ARMY because of my keychain, and I said, "I am, and?" Some people are "shocked" that lots of people in my age range are BTS ARMY. There was even a 91-year-old ARMY! Do you have any preferred music now that you are older? If you're young, what music do you prefer? Why do you connect to an artist? Is it about their lyrics or just their music? Image courtesy of AMAs. This is one of their songs that touches on the student's responsibility to their parents.

I still like the musics that I liked when I was younger. To like a song, I have to like both the music and the lyrics, meaningless lyrics sound "dumb".

@LadyDuck, songs of yesterday are far better than songs of today. I love standard songs m

Although I am aware of them and their popularity I am not a fan myself of them. I know they project good songs too and there are times I also like them but never had the time to really follow them and be a fan and follower myself.

@sica98 I did listen to Swift before, Bruno Mars, and Whitney. They have great songs as well. But I listen most of the time and watch videos of BTS because of their amazing dance choreography in their meaningful songs.

Those were my preferences before I fell down the BTS rabbit hole. Journey, MTLR were my fave bands then, but I didn't stick to any band in particular, I have listened to Westlife, The Beatles, Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, BSB, NSync, Coldplay, and a lot more, but now, I solely stick with BTS, which is amazing. Many of my students can't believe I am an ARMY.
